ESSENTIAL OILS
Lavender.
Soft, powdery florals over a green herbaceous base — the classic note of a calm home.
If any scent says "wind down," it's this one. Lavender is distilled from the flowers of Lavandula, picked at their peak, and its soft, powdery, faintly herbaceous scent comes mostly from linalool and linalyl acetate — the gentle compounds that make it the most-reached-for oil in the world. Ours is grown and distilled on the farm: nothing added, nothing hidden.
It's the everyday calmer. Reach for it to wind down before bed, soften and soothe skin in a diluted blend, or ease the tension out of a long day. It's one of the gentler oils, but it's still concentrated, so dilute it for the skin and patch test first.
Good to know: a couple of drops on a tissue tucked into your pillowcase — or in the diffuser twenty minutes before bed — is the simplest way to bring lavender into your evening. Keep it light; with lavender, less really is more.
